29|11|2025 – We are delighted that the accompanying materials for “Journey to the Arctic” are now available in a comprehensively revised version. All content has been adapted linguistically and didactically so that it can be used across all federal states – regardless of local curriculum formulations.

Another new feature is the option to use all materials as digitally fillable PDFs. This allows students to work on tasks directly on a tablet or computer – ideal for modern teaching, project days, or workshop formats.

At the same time, classic print templates are still available. We are currently working on an offer for ready-made, printed booklets, which will be available to order directly from our shop in the future. The accompanying materials are suitable for designing workshops and interactive activities to complement the escape room. They contain tasks for grades 5 and above using real climate data and were developed in collaboration with the Meereisportal of the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar Research.

25|08|2025 – For the first time, we are offering webinars on the use of the “Journey to the Arctic” workshop package for interested educational institutions. “Journey to the Arctic” is suitable for use with children aged 10 and above and addresses the topics of climate research and the Arctic. The project was scientifically supported by the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar Research, which also developed the station materials included in the workshop package. Here, in addition to solving the escape room, children can also playfully work with real climate data from the sea ice portal. We offer the following webinars, the dates are updated regularly:

01|05|2025 – This year, we had the opportunity to attend the annual conference of MINT schools and present “Journey to the Arctic.” The conference provided impetus for the modernization of learning and discussed how skills in education and business can be acquired in a future-oriented manner. Innovative approaches such as badges, microdegrees, and certificates were discussed, as well as the question of whether these can counteract the shortage of STEM skills in Germany. A particular emphasis was placed on teaching modern STEM skills, with a focus on digital tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) and their versatile applications.

30|04|2025 – We have been nominated for the Goldener Spatz award 2025 in the Interactive and Digital Storytelling category for our interactive augmented reality escape room “Journey to the Arctic”! The Goldener Spatz is Germany’s largest children’s media festival, which takes place annually in Gera and Erfurt, and we are delighted to be nominated alongside other fantastic projects, such as “The Feed” by the State Media Authority of Baden-Württemberg and “Rechnen mit TOM” by SWR. 05|04|2025 – From April 2 to 3, 2025, Heartucate took part in the Medientage Mitteldeutschland in Leipzig as part of the MTM Pioneers program. This young talent program promotes the exchange between media experts and young media professionals. On April 3 at 13:00, our founder Franziska took part in the session “Think & Link – Start-up-Impulse im Dialog” in the MatchPoint area. Together with representatives from Moonlit Monitors and Reynard Films, she discussed innovative approaches in the media industry. Participating in the Media Days provided us with valuable opportunities for networking and exchanging views on current developments in the media sector. We would like to thank the organizers for the invitation and look forward to future events of this kind.
